Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan receives Executive Director of Public Radio of Armenia

On December 27, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia Mark Grigoryan.

Greeting the guest, the Minister highly appreciated the Public Radio’s activities, which are of great significance for Armenians around the world. “The activities of the Public Radio of Armenia are important for expansion and coverage of the partnership between Armenia and the Diaspora. Under your direction, the Radio best implements several programs devoted to the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, including the “Bridge”, “Armenian Communities”, “Voice of the Diaspora”, “Repatriation”, “Historic Homeland”, “Families” and “Armenian Trace” radio shows. Today, preservation and dissemination of the Armenian language has become a priority for all Armenians around the world. In this sense, the broadcast of a radio show in Western Armenian on the Public Radio is also a priority. Let’s hope our compatriots have the opportunity to listen to similar radio shows in the future,” the Minister of Diaspora stated.

Mark Grigoryan expressed gratitude to Hranush Hakobyan for the cordial reception. “During the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference, I received an invitation to pay a working visit to Canada. In March 2018, I am planning on visiting the Armenian media outlets of Toronto and Montreal, as well as the Armenian communities of Los Angeles, Boston and New York and meet with representatives of the Armenian communities,” the Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia stated.

The Minister mentioned that the Ministry of Diaspora is willing to show support to the solution to organizational issues, provide contacts and help reach agreements.

“Importance must be attached to several principles during every meeting with representatives of the Armenian communities. We are guided by the idea that every Armenian needs to see his homeland, try to contribute to Armenia’s development and advancement, preserve the Armenian identity and stay true to his roots. Today, repatriation is also important for us because, at the end of the day, Armenia is the home of every Armenian,” Hranush Hakobyan emphasized.

Executive Director of the Public Radio of Armenia Mark Grigoryan stated that he will also visit London and have meetings with the local Armenian community in January 2018.

Minister Hranush Hakobyan and the guest talked about the field of media in Armenia and the current challenges and attached importance to maintenance of the ethics of journalism, professional approaches and consistency.
