Armenian-Lebanese Economic Forum in Beirut

Armenian-Lebanese Economic Forum was held in Beirut with participation of the Delegation headed by the Minister of Economic Development and Investments of RA Suren Karayan. The forum was attended by the State Minister for Planning Affairs of the Republic of Lebanon Michel Pharaon. About 200 businessmen from Lebanon and Armenia participated in the forum.

Minister Suren Karayan emphasized in his speech that the Government of Armenia has a clear approach to the businessmen investing in Armenia, which is the full support to the investor.

“I would like to once again stress and assure that each investment program is provided by an investor-driven approach, providing investors with the necessary support and offering a broader set of privileges,” said the Minister of Economic Development and Investments and added, “I think the favorable investment and business environment created in Armenia can best contribute to the manifestation of the potential of our business community, which will be expressed in the creation of joint ventures and product promotion in Armenia, Lebanon and other major international markets.”

The Minister answered to the questions of businessmen about implementing business activity in Armenia. The business and investment environment of Armenia has been represented to the representatives of state structures, businessmen and delegates of the conference.

Delivering a report, the Partner of KPMG Russia and CIS Victor Akulian represented KPMG’s Guide on Investment Opportunities in Armenia.

Lebanese investors were especially interested in the opportunities provided by free economic zones in Armenia and jewelry and tourism sectors.

During the forum, a memorandum has been signed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of two countries for the development of bilateral economic relations and facilitation of business circles’ activity.

Another memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the Armenian and Lebanese companies of the industrial sector.

B2B meetings between businessmen has also been held.
