The generation of independence is raising the torch of Armenian culture today

On September 28 at 19:00, the 4th annual Gutan Festival of Ethnographic Songs and Dances will be held at Cafesjian Sculpture Garden (Cascade Complex). The original versions of the Armenian songs and dances will be performed live by leading ensembles.
“We will present everything related to the Armenian identity. This festival is our attempt to disseminate national culture. The event has gathered over 400 performers of 19 ethnographic choirs and dance groups, of which 350 represent the generation of Armenian independence. So, this is victory and it goes to show that all is not lost. Today, the young people of the generation of independence are raising the torch of our national culture,” Merited Artist of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Grigoryan, who conceived and implemented the idea, said during a press conference.
This year’s festival will also be held in Artsakh. There will be 19 ethnographic choirs and dance groups, including Akunk, Karin, Sasna Tsrer, Van, Veradardz, Masunk, Tarontsiner, Nubar, Gorani, Menq Enq Mer Sarere (Artsakh), Maratuk, Tavros, Zartonk, Ardvin, Vark Hayots, Vostan, Areg, Mshot Hovker (Gavar) and Maratuktsiner. The festival will also feature screenings of films devoted to notable Armenian singers and dancers as a token of appreciation of their activities and contributions.
