Armenian dairy products produced through use of French technology

High quality cheese from Tavush…This is what consumers of Armenia have been hearing for the past three years now. Since 2014, the EcoTavush Dairy Factory in the Lusadzor village of Tavush Province has been producing over 10 types of cheese, butter, cottage cheese and other dairy products. The factory combines French technology and pure Armenian raw material. EcoTavush not only provides the Armenian market with high-quality products, but also enhances the 7 borderline villages of Tavush Province, creating jobs at the factory in Lusadzor and on the village’s mini farms that operate under the principle of a cooperative.

As reported Hayastan All-Armenian Fund to Hayern Aysor, the HimnaTavush Agricultural Development Foundation, sponsored by the Fund’s French local affiliate, has been operating since 2011, making investments worth 500,000 Euros in the agriculture sector every year. One of the subsequent projects of HimnaTavush is the EcoTavush Dairy Factory.

In 2017, the Fund’s Argentine-Armenian benefactor Shimshiroglu and his family, who have made their investment in the creation of the dairy factory, visited the factory and toured the farm where they were shown how the animals are taken care of and listened to classical music while the cows were being milked.

Established as a result of charities and donations, EcoTavush also carries out charity projects by supplying milk to orphanages, borderline military units, as well as the kindergartens in the Lusadzor and Khashtarak villages every day.
