Iranian companies’ opportunities to carry out economic activities in Armenia discussed
On July 30, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan received the delegation of the Central State of Iran led by Governor of Saveh Mohammad Baharvand. The visit of the delegation was in accordance with the agreements reached within the scope of Ambassador Tumanyan’s July 4-5 visit to the Central (Markazi) State of the Islamic Republic of Iran, reported the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia to Hayern Aysor.
Among the delegates were representatives of the governor’s office of Markazi, the industrial settlements of Kave and Ave, as well as the general directors of a number of companies.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the opportunities of Iranian companies to carry out economic activities in Armenia. According to Governor Mohammad Baharvand, the companies have expressed the desire to join the delegation to be leaving for Armenia (particularly Tavush region) in August 2017.
The interlocutors also discussed several issues on bilateral cooperation, including the opportunities for strengthening Armenia-Iran economic relations, increasing the trade turnover, making investments in Armenia and transporting Iranian products to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union through the territory of Armenia.
Ambassador Tumanyan provided details about Armenia’s economic situation, the conditions created for foreign investments, the trade regimes, the advantages of free economic zones, certain requirements in the taxation and customs laws and several other issues. The Ambassador particularly touched upon the problems with the export of Iranian products to the market of the Eurasian Economic Union.
An agreement was reached on raising the level of mutual recognition through the organizing of bilateral visits.
