Concert dedicated to Aram Khachaturian’s 110th anniversary held in Beirut

A concert dedicated to world-renowned composer Aram Khachaturian’s 110th anniversary was held at the AGBU Demirjian Center in Beirut on December 1. The concert was organized by the RA Embassy.

The event began with opening remarks by Executive Secretary of the AGBU Lebanon Chapter Anita Lebiar.

In his welcoming remarks, RA Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan presented some details about Aram Khachaturian’s life, underlined his invaluable contribution to and legacy in the development of world classical music. The screening of the film about Aram Khachaturian was followed by a performance by artistic director and principal conductor of the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra Harout Fazlian, who touched upon the details of the great composer’s famous works.

The program included performances of Aram Khachaturian’s works by pianists Armen and Susan Kechekner, violinist Boris Mirzoyan, including the Masquerade Suite and parts from the Spartak and Gayane Ballets.

Among the attendees were deputies, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Lebanon, public and cultural figures, as well as members of Lebanese-Armenian community organizations and clergymen, reports the RA MFA press office to “Hayern Aysor”.
