Voices of Artsakh Choir gives concerts in German cities

From June 22 to 26, at the invitation of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Germany and with the support of German-Armenian community organizations, the Voices of Artsakh Choir gave concerts under the direction of artistic director Lira Kocharyan in the German cities of Kiel, Cologne and Hamburg, reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.

In his welcoming remarks at the Choir’s concert in Kiel, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Armenia to the Council of Europe Paruyr Hovhannsyan particularly stated that this concert marked the launch of the Choir’s subsequent Europe tour and provides the audience with an exclusive opportunity to become familiar with the Choir and appreciate it.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan emphasized that the Voices of Artsakh Choir, which is performing at more and more concert halls every day, serves the goal of presenting the songs and culture of the Armenians of Artsakh and letting the world know about the will and right of the people of Artsakh to live and create in peace in the homeland.

In closing, the Permanent Representative wished the Voices of Artsakh Choir more success as it continues to reveal young talents and help them grow.

Among the attendees were members of the Armenian communities of Strasbourg and Baden-Württemberg and representatives of the local authorities.

Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Germany Ashot Smbatyan; Vicar of the Armenian Prelacy, Archimandrite Serovbe Isakhanyan; Permanent Representative of Artsakh to the Federal Republic of Germany Harutyun Grigoryan and leader of the Armenian community of Cologne Minu Nikpay delivered their opening remarks at the concert in Cologne.

In his speech addressed to the attendees, Ambassador Smbatyan particularly stated that this concert served as another way of presenting the rich historical heritage of the Armenians through music and conveying the air and spirit of Artsakh to the public at large.

With its performances of national, folk and foreign songs, the Voices of Artsakh Choir was well received and highly appreciated by German-Armenians and the Germans.
