On June 9, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq, Archbishop Avak Asadourian; Vice-Chairman of the Central Board of the Armenian National Council of Iraq Sarkis Cholakian and Secretary of the Central Board Sarkis Gotounian.

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan cordially greeted the guest, presented the programs and activities of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and touched upon the issues facing Syrian-Armenians and Iraqi-Armenians in Armenia and the activities being carried out to solve those issues.

Issues on participation of the delegates of the Iraqi-Armenian community in the 6^th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference (18-20 September) and discussion on the issues of Iraqi-Armenians at the conference were discussed during the meeting.

The guests expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and attached importance to the close cooperation with the Ministry of Diaspora, adding that this year 14 young Iraqi-Armenians would be participating in the “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and 10 teachers would undergo training through the “Diaspora” Summer School Program of the Ministry. The Iraqi-Armenian figures expressed their willingness to put in more efforts to help the community show more active participation in the pan-Armenian programs.
