Opening of “To Armenia and Russia with Love” exhibition to be held

On June 10 at 12:00, the Home of Moscow in Yerevan (7 Argishti Street, Yerevan) will host the opening of the exhibition called “To Armenia and Russia with Love”. The exhibition is being held with the support of the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia and the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
Among the guests of honor are Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Armenia Ivan Volinkin; Head of the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia (1992-95), Acting Minister of Defense (1993), hero of the Artsakh war, Lieutenant-General Norat Ter-Grigoryants, as well as guests from Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
With the support of the RA Ministry of Diaspora and under the care of the administration of the city of Gyumri, a needy family will be handed the keys to an apartment that is a donation from Hrachya Poghosyan.
The exhibition, which is devoted to Russia Day and to the friendship between the Russians and Armenians spanning many years, features over 200 photos that portray the charities that public figure and benefactor Hrachya Poghosyan carries out in ten countries around the world, including Russia, Armenia, Slovakia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Georgia.
Hrachya Poghosyan has built over 80 religious, cultural and historic structures. He has also helped publish dozens of books and periodicals and shoot documentary films.
The event will feature the presentation of the book “Sons of a Great Nation” by Marshal Hovhannes Baghramyan of the former USSR. The book will be presented by the Marshal’s grandson, Ivan Baghramyan (father’s name: Sergey).
The presentation will be followed by the screening of the documentary film “Train to Eternity”, which is devoted to the tragedy that took place at Tikhvin Station in Leningrad region on 14 October 1941 when more than 2,000 children being evacuated from Leningrad fell victim to the Fascists’ bombardment. In 2016, through Hrachya Poghosyan’s efforts, a monument was erected and a tombstone was restored in the place where the children died.
The “To Armenia and Russia with Love” exhibition will run from June 10 to 24 (11:00-15:00). Entrance is free.
