Screening of new Turkish film devoted to Armenian Genocide to be held in Yerevan

“The Children of the Monastery”-this is the title of the Turkish film devoted to the Armenian massacres and to be screened in Yerevan on 7 June. This is what plenipotentiary representative of the National Congress of Western Armenians and President of Repatriate Foundation Aragats Akhoyan announced during a press conference.

Akhoyan noted that the screening of the film devoted to the Armenian Genocide and its consequences is organized by the cultural committee of the National Congress of Western Armenians international non-governmental organization and will be held at Moscow Cinema in Yerevan. The film is directed by Nezahat Gundogan and produced by Kazim Gundogan.

“For years, the Repatriate Foundation has carried out various cultural programs, and in this sense, there are two events. The first will be the screening of the film “The Children of the Monastery” at Moscow Cinema on June 7 at 18:00,” Akhoyan said and stressed that the one-hour film is devoted to the Armenian children saved in different ways during the Armenian Genocide and raised amongst Kurds and Turks.

In his turn, producer Kazim Gundogan noted that Turkey continues its policy of denial of the several genocides that took place throughout the 20th century and took the lives of several nations living in the country, including the Armenians.
