Armenian American writer Margarit Derants hosted at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

On May 26, Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan received Armenian American prose writer Margarit Derants.

Greeting the guests, the Minister attached importance to the pro-Armenian activities of the writer for preservation of the Armenian language and literature in the Diaspora and invited the writer to participate in the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference to be held in Yerevan on September 18-20.

Margarit Derants expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and noted that she was originally from Stepanakert and would be presenting her short novel “The Crystal Vase” in Stepanakert in a couple of days.

“Artsakh is precious and sacramental for me. The world must recognize and respect the freedom and independence of the people of Artsakh. I think the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia has launched a wonderful initiative by carrying out the “What are YOU doing for Artsakh?” pan-Armenian movement and declaring the year 2017 as the Year of Artsakh,” she added.
