Armenian school in Surgut celebrates Victory Day and day of liberation of Shushi
On May 7, the teachers and students of the Grigor Narekatsi Armenian Sunday School in the Russian city of Surgut combined efforts and held an event to celebrate May 9th (Victory Day and the day of the liberation of Shushi).
As reported the School to Hayern Aysor, the participants of the event talked about the brave sons of the Armenian nation who participated in the Great Patriotic War; how they struggled, won and became heroes; the Armenian Kochari dance that they danced in Berlin, as well as Shushi (liberated by brave Armenians on 9 May 1992), the “Wedding in the Mountains” operation, the victory in the Artsakh war, as well as the fighting spirit and heroism of the Armenian people.
The participants were also introduced to the life and career of deceased veteran of the Great Patriotic War Hovsep Varpetyan through a showing of the latter’s personal and state documents and photos.
