Be happy, Armenian mothers!

My mother is the door of our hope, the chapel of our house,

My mother is our cradle, the citadel of our house…

H. Shiraz

A mother is the most important person in each person’s life. The lullaby that she sings with infinite love and with dreams remains in the depths of the soul of her beloved child and guides the child throughout his life as a guardian angel. We Armenians describe all major concepts with the word “mother”, including “love of a mother”, “mother language”, “Mother Church”, “Mother Homeland”, and it is not by chance that Motherhood and Beauty Day is one of the most anticipated national holidays that is celebrated in our homeland.

In all centuries, for their modesty, patience, love and devotion, Armenian mothers, women and ladies have been compared to the Virgin Mary, who linked the universal forces of the land and heavens and became the mother of life and eternal light.

The Armenian people have always treated mothers with love and warmth. In all centuries, they have dedicated great songs, poems and spiritual hymns to mothers as a sign of gratitude.

Out of all the annual cultural events, the “Krunk” Armenian community of Saratov Oblast prepares for the event dedicated to Motherhood and Beauty Day with great emotions and attaches great importance to it.

The festive concert entitled “Be Happy”, which was organized in partnership with the cultural center of Saratov, featured performances of wonderful songs and dances. Each performance impressed the audience, and the recitations of poems by Nune Bareghamyan, Nelly Mkhitaryan, Eva Aghakaryan, Anush Kirakosyan and “Krunk” Youth Theater touched everyone’s hearts.

The exemplary Krunk Armenian Folk Dance Ensemble (artistic director Liana Bareghamyan) wonderfully performed the Armenian dances “Lorke”, “Tsaghkadzor”, “Dino”, “Shalakho” and “Sevan”, while singers Arshak Musheghyan, Naira Srapionyan and Rima Petrosyan made the event more entertaining with their beautiful musical numbers. The performances by pianist Tigran Gasparyan, violinist Irina Ryabchkova and composer Artush Zatiyan were also influential.

The performances by the creative groups of the cultural center of Saratov were also a marvelous gift for the audience. The members of Zadorinka Dance Studio (artistic director Yekaterina Popova), Fuete Dance Studio (artistic director: Merited Artist of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic Yelena Kolchanova) and Savitri Indian Dance Ensemble (artistic director Olga Kamkina) received the warm rounds of applause of the audience. All the participants of the concert had the heartfelt desire to express their respect and gratitude to all mothers with their brilliant performances and to tell them the following: “Be happy!”

The smiles on people’s faces, the tears of joy, the flowers and the rounds of applause affirmed that the event devoted to spring, beauty and motherhood was a success.

From the author: “Dear Armenian mothers, sisters and ladies! In all centuries, you have been the guardian angels of the home and the nation. By never losing hope and faith, you have preserve our mother language and exceptional culture and transmit it to the generations with pride.

We bow in front of you and tell you the following: “Be happy!”
