Turkish sport commentator Alper Bakirjigil, who had thrown the blame for the tension between Turkish and French sports fans during the Besiktas-Lyon match of the quarter final of the European League on the Armenian Diaspora, has apologized.
According to haberler.com, the commentator stated that people had misunderstood him and apologized.
Let us remind that during the match that Besiktas lost, the commentator for TRT said the following when asked about the tension between the Turkish and French fans: “Let us not forget that there are many Armenians living in Lyon.”
In response, one of the former players of Besiktas Ali Gyultiken opposed the commentator and stated that the Armenians shouldn’t be blamed for this, writes tert.am.
