Charles Aznavour welcomes “What are YOU doing or Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement

Despite his busy schedule, world famous singer Charles Aznavour didn’t decline the request of Argentina-based Armenian musician and honorary member of AGBU Argentina Gagik Gasparyan to meet before the singer’s concert in Chile.

As reported Gagik Gasparyan to Hayern Aysor, the nearly one-hour meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Charles Aznavour kindly answered Gasparyan’s questions and was in a great mood.

“When I found out that Charles Aznavour was in Latin America, I set a goal to meet Aznavour, who is a great Armenian and a person concerned about the future of Armenia. I also wanted to let him know about the steps that Diaspora Armenians take to solve the issues facing Armenia and Artsakh and hear his words of advice that are more than valuable for me,” Gagik Gasparyan said, adding that he meticulously presented the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement launched by the RA Ministry of Diaspora. Learning about the idea and mission of the movement, the singer welcomed it and emphasized the following: “I welcome the movement launched in support of Artsakh. There have to be more initiatives like this.”

During the meeting, the legendary French-Armenian singer also shared stories of his ancestors who had witnessed the Armenian Genocide and had escaped the massacres.
