Javakhk-Armenian volunteer donors join Armenian Bone Marrow Registry

On March 3 and 4, for the first time ever, the Armenian Bone Marrow Registry registered donors through events held in the Armenian-populated communities of Javakhk, registering 76 Armenian volunteers.

The events were held with the support of Chairwoman of Armenian Relief Society Javakhk Karine Tadevosyan and other members of the ARS in Akhaltskha, Akhalkalak and Ninotsminda.

The Registry’s Executive Director Sevak Avagyan and Medical Director Mihran Nazaretyan gave lectures in which they presented the Registry’s activities, achievements and importance. For 17 years, the Registry has been devoted to the struggle against leukemia and other malignant blood disorders, aspiring to help Armenians around the world and, why not, foreigners overcome suffering from those lethal diseases.

Established in 1999 in Armenia, the Armenian Bone Marrow Registry is a response to the dire need to save and provide treatment for children suffering from leukemia and other blood disorders. The organization is registered as a non-profit charitable foundation that has registered over 28,000 volunteer donors to date.
