Mesrop Mashtots Armenian School of Russia’s Perm celebrated 15th anniversary

On February 26, the Mesrop Mashtots Armenian School of the Russian city of Perm celebrated its 15th anniversary with an event that was also dedicated to International Mother Language Day.
As reported the Armenian community of Perm to Hayern Aysor, the event began with welcoming remarks by members of the Armenian cultural center of Perm Armen Garslyan and Grigor Tashjyan, who attached importance to the role of the Armenian school in the spiritual, cultural and educational life of the Armenians of Perm, especially the young members of the community.
Members of the community, alumni, as well as representatives of the municipal authorities, Armenian non-governmental organizations, the Center for Children’s Creations and other institutions were there to congratulate the School on its anniversary.
The past fifteen years of the School were presented in photos, after which the alumni shared their memories and recited poems.
The video messages of New York-based member of the School’s board Artavazd Vardanyan and the School’s alumnus Arevik Garslyan (Garslyan is currently studying in Geneva) were shown during the event.
At the end, the attendees were treated to a cake portraying Mount Ararat, Ararat Valley and Arax River.
