The ever glorious Armenian language

It was more than a celebration in the “Khachkar” (Cross-Stone) classroom of “Armat” (Root) Armenian School in Krasnodar. Under the title “The ever glorious Armenian language”, the event was dedicated to International Mother Language Day and the birthday of Poet of All Armenians Hovhannes Tumanyan. Among the attendees were guests and parents.

As Arshaluys Yeremyan reported to Hayern Aysor, the first part of the event was devoted to the Armenian alphabet created by Mesrop Mashtots. With songs, poems and theme-based games, the children praised the sweet language, which is the greatest treasure spanning millennia and the main guarantee for the national identity.

The second part was devoted to Hovhannes Tumanyan. There is no Armenian child who doesn’t know the Armenian poet. Tumanyan’s works are beloved and comprehensible, and that is why we always remember them. They teach us many things about the good and evil, as well as the humane and the divine. The children presented the poet’s ballad “Shoonn oo Katoon” (The Dog and the Cat), the poem “Irikun” (Evening) and the tongue twister entitled “Ehs Ehn Eh”.

The event ended with the following call: “Let’s love, preserve and use our ancient mother language!”
