Argentine-Armenian community celebrated national and church holidays (video)

The 25th anniversary of the formation of the Armenian Army, St. Sarkis Day and the Tyarndarach holiday were very solemnly celebrated during an event held through the efforts of the youth union of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church (Prelacy). This is what pastor of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina in Buenos Aires, Fr. Archimandrite Maghakia Amirian told Hayern Aysor.

The event began with the blessing of newlyweds and young people, after which the clergy, escorted by believers, came out to the churchyard to light the traditional bonfire. The event also featured wonderful performances of dances by Masis and Nairi Armenian Dance Groups, as well as performances by beloved singer of Armenian folk and ethnographic songs Edgardo Sarian. Among the attendees were the leaders and members of various unions, societies and institutions of the Argentine-Armenian community and hundreds of believers. Everyone sang and joined hands in a round-dance until late at night. According to the established tradition, in the summer, the Argentine-Armenian community will donate the small amount of funds raised from the food sale and the funds donated by some members of the community throughout the year to the families of certain deceased servicemen in the bordering villages of Tavush Province. During the ceremony, believers received leaflets devoted to St. Sarkis Day and the Tyarndarach holiday, and the newlyweds received religious books.
