Ceremonies dedicated to the past decade of the U.S. Western Diocese

On November 21st, 22nd and 24th, the U.S. Western Diocese will be holding events dedicated to the literary works of Prelate, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian over the past decade, as well as the creation of new parishes, the training of young clergymen, the activities of the Christian Education Unit and the publications of the Diocese. The slogan is “We All Work Together in the Mission for the Church”.

The events on Thursday, November 21st and Friday, November 22nd will start at 6:30 at Galaijian Hall of the Prelacy. The first part of the Thursday event will be devoted to the new parishes, the clergymen recently ordained to serve the Western Diocese and new young candidates. Chairman of the Guardianship Board, Dr. Vahram Birijik will be the master of ceremonies. There will also be a screening of a special film. The second part will be devoted to the activities of the Christian Education Unit, which will be presented by Head of the Unit Mashtots Chobanian.

The first part of the November 22 event will be devoted to the programs carried out by Armenia and the U.S., which will be presented by member of the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Mother See, Dr. Varujan Altebarmakian. Raffi Kendirjian will be the master of ceremonies for this part of the event. The second part will be devoted to the publications of the Diocese and the books published by the Prelate in the past decade. Spiritual pastor of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Crescenta Valley, Priest Avedis Abovian will be the master of ceremonies for this part of the event.

On Sunday, November 24th, the Prelate will serve a Divine Liturgy during which Chairwoman of the Diocesan Council, Judge Ethrin Krikorian will receive the “Saint Nerses Shnorhali” Medal of Honor. A cross-stone will be consecrated by longstanding member of the Prelacy, Ana Movsisian. After the liturgy, at 1:30, the Women’s Union will host a reception, after which several groups and singers will perform during a concert to be held at Turpanjian Square from 2:00 to 3:30.
