Agos Weekly’s former editorial office to be turned into “a corner of hope and for remembrance”

“Hope lives when people remember”-this is the motto of the Hrant Dink Foundation, which will turn the former editorial office of Agos Armenian Weekly (established by Istanbul-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink assassinated in 2007) into “a corner for remembrance”. Visitors will find various books and photos devoted to the struggle of Dink and the representatives of national and religious minorities of Turkey, as well as watch films and hold discussions.
As reported on the Foundation’s official website, according to tert.am, “since the very first day of establishment of Agos, this office had become a place for hope and transformation for thousands of people”. Dink was assassinated right in front of this editorial office on January 19, 2007. After Dink’s death, the employees of the Foundation established by Dink’s family now hope that the former editorial office will continue to carry out its major mission and remain “a corner of hope”.
Let us mention that the territory of the old editorial office of Agos, which is located at Osmanbey Avenue in the Shishli district of Istanbul, served as the weekly’s editorial office between the years of 1999 and 2015.
