“Hayordats Tun” Armenian School/Center hosts Armenian Christmas event

On January 21, the Armenians of Moscow had a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet each other with the words “Christ is Born and Revealed, Tidings to Us All” during an Armenian Christmas held at “Hayordats Tun” Armenian School/Center of Moscow and directed by the School’s teachers Knarik Papikyan and Alvina Hovhannisyan.

As reported “Hayordats Tun”’s information center to Hayern Aysor, the teachers had set the key objective to show the major episodes of the life of Christ on Earth. Whereas the month of January used to begin with an event devoted to the Birth of Christ, this year, the audience saw the Birth, the Symbolic Supper and the Crucifixion through a fairy-tale devoted to cedars.

Giving his blessing and wishing everyone a Merry Armenian Christmas, the leader of the Diocese, Fr. Archbishop Yezras Nersisyan said the following: “Our nation is so blessed to have such teachers and parents. Let us glorify and thank the Lord for having such a center in the capital of Russia that shapes the image of a kind and patriotic Armenian and educates talented children who are the defenders of the sacred heritage of our ancestors.”

Touching upon the event, the event’s organizer Knarik Papikyan said the following: “During last year’s Armenian Christmas event, I showed how believers take water and fire home. This year, the goal was to show why Christ had to be born, what the sin of Adam was, how mankind had to have the opportunity to live forever, and all this would present the symbol of the Birth of Christ. I would like to express my gratitude to the children’s parents for helping make this event a success. They worked hard and with great pleasure.”

The people in the audience, including teachers of other Armenian schools in Moscow and the oblasts of Moscow, were quite impressed with the event that featured performances of Armenian Christmas psalms with the accompaniment of Lena Beglaryan and her Ovsanna Choir.
