Hike dedicated to heroic battle in Karin Tak village to be organized

Throughout 2016, the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic held over 400 events, including 288 cultural events and 136 youth events.

According to Artsakhpress, this is what Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Narine Aghabalyan said as she recapped the Ministry’s activities carried out throughout the year and answered journalists’ questions during a January 23 press conference.

Aghabalyan informed that on January 26, the Ministry will be organizing a hike for young people to the Karin Tak village of Shushi region in light of the 25th anniversary of the heroic battle that took place in the village. The participants of the expedition will light candles at the Holy Savior Ghazanchetsots Church in Shushi, after which they will walk to the Karin Tak Village to pay tribute to the freedom fighters who died in the heroic battle. Afterwards, they will hold a commemorative event.

“The goal of the program is to help the youth come together and help them get to know their country better. By presenting the heroic pages and episodes of the history of the national liberation struggle to the generation of independence, we will instill in the youth military and patriotic discipline, and this will serve as the best benchmark for patriotism and national upbringing,” NKR Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Narine Aghabalyan said, adding that the hike is also for young people who wish to join.
