RA Ambassador to Lebanon gives lecture at American University of Beirut

On November 24, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Lebanon Samvel Mkrtchyan delivered a lecture entitled “Armenia’s Foreign Policy: Perspectives and Challenges” at the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs of the American University of Beirut (AUB), reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the lecture for students and professors, the Ambassador briefly presented the activities of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and addressed the main directions and priorities of Armenia’s foreign and security policies, the process of negotiations over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, relations with directly neighboring countries, as well as Armenia’s active involvement in the international arena and in integration processes.

In response to several questions from the participants, the Ambassador clarified the purpose of the intermediary mission of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, the federal relations between Russia and Armenia, Armenia’s accession to the CSTO and the EEU, the cooperation with the EU and the perspectives of the Eastern Partnership, as well as the partnering relations with NATO.

Armenia-Diaspora relations, the events taking place in the Near East, particularly in Syria, as well as other regional and international issues were also discussed.
