During a November 23 event hosted the Armenian Representation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly at Tavrid Palace in Saint Petersburg, Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov awarded member of the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg Sargis Poghosyan with the Commemorative Medal of the RA National Assembly, and granted the certificates of the RA National Assembly to Arsen Movsesyan, Vahram Zakaryan, Karen Mkrtchyan, Arfenia Ter-Minasova, Hrachya Poghosyan, Vahagn Babayan and Armen Karapetyan, reported the staff of RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov.

The RA NA Deputy Speaker attached importance to the role of the Armenians of Saint Petersburg in the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations, preservation of the Armenian identity, as well as the preservation and dissemination of Armenian culture.

“With your patriotic activities, you proved that patriotism is first and foremost shown through work. We thank each of you for standing with the homeland and showing concern about the homeland. It is impossible to forget what Sargis Poghosyan did as he left for Artsakh as a volunteer to be an on-duty serviceman right when the Four-Day Artsakh War broke out. Your act was a manifestation of the collective will and spirit of victory of the Armenian nation,” he particularly mentioned.
