Turkey refuses to call Khojalu events “genocide”
The Ankara Province administration refused to name a Kizilcahamam-based museum dedicated to the Khojalu events a “genocide museum.”
Kizilcahamam museum’s request to open the “Khojalu genocide museum” was refused by the province’s administration. Possible diplomatic problems were cited as a reason for refusal, with the word being impossible to use in its legal meaning. Kizilcahamam municipality gave a different name to the museum following the refusal, Hurriyet said.
