Armenian Jewellers’ Association (AJA) has new president

On October 28, the Armenian Jewellers’ Association (AJA) convened its first general assembly at Meridian Exhibition Center in Yerevan.
Hayern Aysor, citing the Association’s website, reports that the general assembly gathered nearly 154 members of the Armenian Jewellers’ Association from different countries around the world who elected new members of the Association’s international board, including Sarkis Nourian (USA), Krikor Yesayan (Lebanon), Allen Bagian (Turkey), Leon Chant Haytayan (USA), Raffi Marukian (USA), Ruben Kotanchyan (Russia), Aris Demir (Turkey), Sarkis Sahakyan (Armenia), Anna Vardanyan (Armenia), Vahe Tarpinyan (Armenia), Bogos Siradag (Turkey), Samvel Gevorkyan (Russia), Mikhael Kasparov (Russia), Kevork Kolanian (Greece), Zohrab Istamboulian (Thailand), Hagop Baghdadlian (USA) and Vano Haroutunian (USA).
In its turn, the newly elected International Board elected a new AJA Executive Board, and the following members were elected: AJA President Sarkis Nourian (USA), Vice-President Krikor Yesayan (Lebanon), Vice-President Allen Bagian (Turkey), Vice-President Leon Chant Haytayan (USA), Treasurer Raffi Marukian (USA), Treasurer Ruben Kotanchyan (Russia), Secretary Aris Damir (Turkey).
The General Assembly elected Gagik Gevorgyan AJA Honorary Lifetime President.
The Board also took a decision to expel Mr. Pierre Akkelian (Canada) from the Association in regard with his inappropriate conduct and taking into consideration the fact that his actions go against high principles and civil social networking established in AJA.
