Event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia held in Nuremberg

On October 29, the German city of Nuremberg hosted an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia, and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian community of Nuremberg and the 25th anniversary of the German-Armenian Medical Society were celebrated on the sidelines of the event, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.

The event began with opening speeches by RA Ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan, Member of the German Bundestag Gabriela Heinrich (elected from Nuremberg) and President of the German-Armenian Medical Society, Dr. Margarita Asoian-Link, who is also the Head of the Armenian community of Nuremberg.

Congratulating the attendees, the Ambassador stated that he highly appreciates the role of the community in the strengthening of Armenian-German relations and in presenting Armenian culture and national traditions to the German public.

Among the attendees were Members of the German Bundestag and the Parliament of Bavaria and representatives of municipal authorities.

The event featured performances of the works of classic Armenian and European composers by opera singers of Nuremberg, including Hrachuhi Basents, Suren Manukyan and Gor Harutyunyan.

During the event, Ambassador Smbatyan awarded singer Hrachuhi Basents with the Gold Medal of the RA Ministry of Culture.
