“Evening with John Malkovich” performance at Teatro Coliseo theater of Buenos Aires
On October 21, the Teatro Coliseo theater of Buenos Aires hosted the premiere of the “Evening with John Malkovich” performance, which starred world famous Oscar-winning actor John Malkovich and the Buenos Aires Philharmonic conducted by Maestro Sergey Smbatyan. The works of Argentine writer Ernesto Sabato were read to the sounds of the musical compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, John Tavener and Alfred Schnitke, as reported the Facebook page of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, according to Hayern Aysor.
On the occasion of the visit of Maestro Sergey Smbatyan to Argentina, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Argentina hosted a reception that was attended by John Malkovich and the Philharmonic’s soloists, including Anastasia Terenkova and Nina Kotova.
Organizations of the Argentine-Armenian community also hosted several receptions. In particular, the choirmaster was hosted at the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Buenos Aires where he had a meeting with representatives of Argentine-Armenian community organizations. On October 22, Smbatyan participated in the event called “Buenos Aires Celebrates Armenia” and held by the Municipality of Buenos Aires and Argentine-Armenian community organizations.
Afterwards, the Maestro had a meeting with members of the Argentine-Armenian community, the founder and general director of the EMBA Music School of Buenos Aires Vazgen Bezazian, as well as young Armenian students of Argentina’s music schools and performers at Country Club Armenia.
Let us add that the “Evening with John Malkovich” concert/performance will also be staged at the Independencia Theater of the Argentine city of Mendoza on October 26.
