Narine Hovsepyan is ready to host two Syrian-Armenian children in her home

Narine Hovsepyan is an economist/manager. For the past thirteen years, she has been a lecturer of the Faculty of Economics at “Haibusak” University. She is also a volunteer for the “Green Roof-Rainbow Garden, Center for Early Socialization of Children” NGO in Yerevan.

Helping people in difficult situations and providing humanitarian, moral and psychological assistance to them has become a principle for Narine. She does all that by remembering the saying “Treat others the way you would like to be treated”.

The lecturer is very sad to see the tragic situation that the Armenian community of Aleppo is in as a result of the Syrian war. She closely follows the events to see what kinds of programs and projects are being organized to help Syrian-Armenian families that have moved to Armenia. She has decided to become a part of those programs and projects and do her best to help mitigate the worries of the families.

She has already addressed the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia with a proposal to host two children between the ages of 8 and 12 in her home. Gender is not important since Narine has two sons and two daughters.

“If there are Syrian-Armenian orphans or children in need of guardianship in Armenia, I will be glad to take care of them. They will overcome their stress and be able to become integrated into society by communicating with my children. I think every child needs to grow up in a family and receive an upbringing, regardless of whether that family is his or someone else’s family. We all know that children having lived in other similar institutions and having experienced war have psychological problems. So, we need to stand with them and encourage them,” Narine Hovsepyan said in an interview with Hayern Aysor, adding that the main purpose of her decision is to help children learn how to be compassionate with others and to help them understand that no Armenian child should ever grow up in a different family by succumbing to a foreign culture or environment.
