On October 17, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Armen Amiryan at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, as reported the information system of the Mother See.

Congratulating the Minister on his appointment, the Catholicos of All Armenians wished him fruitful service for the development of Armenia and the cultural life of the Armenian people.

Attaching importance to the role of culture in the lives of Armenians, the Supreme Patriarch particularly emphasized that it was also through culture that the Armenian people has been able to live and survive throughout the centuries.

In his turn, the newly appointed Minister expressed gratitude to His Holiness for the blessing and appreciation and attached importance to the cooperation between the Mother See and the RA Ministry of Culture.

During the meeting, the sides touched upon the activities of the Ministry and the current challenges and talked about the conservation of shrines and other historical and cultural monuments.
