Fresno-based doctors gave lectures in Stepanakert

At the initiative of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno and with the support of the local Armenian community, a group of foreign doctors are giving lectures and providing free medical consulting and, if necessary, performing surgeries in Stepanakert.

In an interview with “Artsakhpress”, Fresno-Armenian doctor Janis Kezirian said they had come to Artsakh to provide medical consulting and assistance to the people.

“When we met and talked to the local doctors, we realized that what they really need is exchange of experience. We gave lectures on how they need to prepare before transferring a patient to the hospital, where and how they can organize the transfer and transfer the patients to the clinics without causing any damages.

The second topic was devoted to upper respiratory tract illnesses. We talked about the character and uniqueness of those illnesses and how they need to organize the treatment for such patients properly and in a timely manner,” Kezirian said, adding:  “Yesterday we toured the hospital rooms, and I must say that the hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. We transferred our drugs to the hospital, and they will be given to the patients for free.”

In an interview, executive director of Arevik Children’s Medical Center Mesrop Margaryan said the foreign pediatricians had organized lectures devoted to the care for children at an early age and health maintenance issues.

According to Margaryan, such contacts and meetings are very important, while exchange of experience is necessary.
