Results of “Land of Fathers” Short Film Competition summed up

Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society and Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema summed up the results of their “Land of Fathers” competition for short and low-budget films, as reported the Armenia Office of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society to Hayern Aysor.

The competition was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia and was aimed at promoting the contemporary Armenian film industry, discovering new filmmakers and supporting student and young screenwriters and film directors.

Out of the 17 scripts that were submitted, the prestigious jury selected the top three scripts based on which the following films have been produced under the sponsorship of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society:

Shogher Petrosyan’s film “Land of Fathers”

Vardan Tovmasyan’s film “The Lights in Our Village”

Sona Tonakanyan’s film “The Ball”

On October 7 at 16:00, Shogher Petrosyan’s film “Land of Fathers” will be shown at the Armenia Office of Hamazkayin.

The jury for the “Land of Fathers” competition was chaired by President of the National Film Academy of Armenia Harutyun Khachatryan and was composed of six members, including President of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Foundation Lilit Galstyan, film critic Aneta Yerznkyan, Rector of Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema Davit Muradyan, filmmaker/playwright Ruben Hovsepyan, screenwriter Spartak Gharabaghtsyan and Diaspora Armenian film director Nigol Bezjian.
