City Council of Spanish city Marbella adopted an institutional declaration on September 30 by which it officially recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide. All the politic al forces that took part in the voting unanimously voted in favor of that declaration.

The representatives of the political forces in the City Council voiced about the importance of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and about its preventive nature, particularly in the context of contemporary geopolitical developments. The speakers highlighted the importance of recognizing and condemning the Armenian Genocide by the central authorities of Spain.
