On May 6, President of Syria Bashar al-Assad talked about the Armenian Genocide in his speech on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day.

According to SANA, writes Artsakhpress, the President referred to the crimes that the Ottoman Turks committed against Syrian nationalists a century ago and added that the Ottoman Turks didn’t stop there and committed crimes against millions of Armenian and Assyrians who used to live under the dominance of the Ottoman Empire at the time. “Those crimes are being repeated in the same manner, but with different names and instruments,” Assad mentioned, adding that Djemal Pasha was the criminal a century ago, and now it’s Erdogan.
