Only one sign in Turkey on which the words “Armenian Kingdom” is written
There is only one sign in Turkey stating the words “Armenian Kingdom”.
On the sign placed on the wall of the Saint Paul Church, which is in the territory of modern-day Turkey, was built during the reign of the Cilician Kingdom and has turned into a mosque, it is stated in Turkish and English that the church was built by King Oshin during the reign of the Armenian Kingdom in the 11th century.
According to News.am, this is a unique inscription because the words “Armenian” or “Armenia” are not specified on any historical and cultural monument located in the territory of Turkey, including in Ani, which is the capital of the Bagratunyats Kingdom. Only in 2015 was the phrase “Armenian church” added to the sign posted on the wall of the Holy Cross Church of Akhtamar. As for the words “Armenia” or “Armenian Kingdom”, they are not seen anywhere besides the panel of the Saint Paul Church.
