Sister Schools Program in action

The Sister Schools Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, which is aimed at establishing bridges of friendship between the Armenian schools of Armenia and the Diaspora, is becoming more and more popular, and schools are accepting the offer for cooperation, partnership and mutual assistance in education and upbringing with enthusiasm.
According to Hayern Aysor, on September 20, another memorandum was concluded by the principals of Fridtjof Nansen Primary School #150 of Yerevan and Nor Ayg Armenian School of the Netherlands. According to the memorandum, the schools will hold joint cultural and educational events, events for the exchange of information, teacher training courses, Armenian language and native studies courses and other programs and events.
The principals of the two schools, including Manik Hayrapetyan (School #150) and Alice Tovmasyan (Nor Ayg Armenian Sunday School) stated that their schools now have the opportunity to get to know each other, help solve the problems with the instruction of the Armenian language and national upbringing of the young generation of Armenians, organize the exchange of experiences between teachers and carry out distance learning programs.
The principals of the sister schools expressed their words of gratitude to the RA Ministry of Diaspora for carrying out support programs aimed at solving the problems with education within Armenian communities abroad.
Among those attending the signing ceremony were employees of the RA Ministry of Diaspora, Yerevan Municipality and the district council of Nor-Nork Administrative District. Congratulating everyone on the signing of the memorandum between the sister schools and on the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence, Head of the Division for Scientific and Educational Programs of the Department of All-Armenian Programs at the Ministry of Diaspora Sirvard Hambaryan voiced hope that the establishment of relations between the school of Yerevan named after the great humanist and friend of the Armenian people and the small Armenian one-day school in the Netherlands would surely contribute to the act of providing Armenian children with an Armenian education and upbringing in both schools.
The solemn signing ceremony was followed by a grand event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The guests toured the gallery showcasing the works of the children that were devoted to the 25th anniversary.
