Armenian Home of Milan celebrated the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence

On September 21, the Armenian Home (Casa Armena) of Milan hosted a reception and concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia. The event was organized by the Honorary Consulate of Armenia in Milan, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Italy and the local Armenian community, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Honorary Consul of Armenia in Milan Pietro Kiucukian, President of the Armenian Home Marina Mavyan and Vice-President of the City Council of Milan Beatrice Uzucioni gave their welcoming speeches at the reception. On behalf of the municipal authorities of Milan, Uzucioni congratulated the Armenian people and the Armenians of Milan on Armenia’s Independence Day and highly appreciated the contributions that they make to the development of Milan.
In her speech addressed to the participants, RA Ambassador to Milan Victoria Baghdasaryan congratulated everyone on the holiday that is precious and cherished for every Armenian, presented the achievements that the Republic of Armenia has made over the past 25 years and touched upon the friendly relations between Armenia and Italy and Armenia-Diaspora relations. Ambassador Baghdasaryan expressed certainty that the Armenian people, who have overcome many trials and tribulations throughout history, will also overcome the current challenges with its great potential and will shape a safe, prosperous and glorious future.
The event included performances of the works of Komitas and Gurdjieff by the Italian La Paix Group.
Among the attendees were representatives of the municipal authorities, non-governmental organizations and the Armenian community of Milan, as well as consuls accredited to Milan.
