Mihran Harutyunyan becomes Olympic vice-champion

Member of Armenia’s Greco-Roman style wrestling team Mihran Harutyunyan became a vice-champion of the 31st Summer Olympic Games, as reported the news department of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia.
In the final, Harutyunyan’s opponent was former world champion, Serbian wrestler Davor Stefanek. The beautiful and persistent struggle ended with a tie (1:1), and since the Serb was the last to score a point, the referees declared Stefanek as the winner.
Before making it to the final, in the first match, Harutyunyan had outscored his Egyptian opponent Saleh Kahk 9:0. In the second match, Harutyunyan won Korean wrestler Ryu Hansuy 2:1 and continued the struggle in the semi-final. In the semi-final, Mihran won Azerbaijani wrestler Rasul Chunayev 3:1.
