For the past five years, through the program of ARS Georgia, the members of the U.S. East Coast Youth Association have been helping organize the Javakhk Camp Program in Javakhk. For the first three years, the program was only organized in Akhalkalak and Akhaltskha. In 2015, it was organized in four regions, including Akhaltskha, Akhalkalak, Ninotsminda and Tsalka, and this year is no exception.

The camping event lasts 10-12 days and gathers children between the ages of 7 and 15. The day begins at 9:30 and ends at 17:00. Throughout the program, the children participate in lectures devoted to Armenian history, notable Armenian figures and inventors. They also learn Armenian ethnographic songs and dances and learn how to make handmade items, exercise and play children’s games. The program also includes short tours. Every year, the camping event gathers 115-125 children.
