Hayern Aysor’s correspondent talked about the first “Armenia. Create Together” youth forum (organized by the RA Ministry of Diaspora, in association with the Armenian General Benevolent Union, Luys Foundation and Ayb Foundation) with communication correspondent of the ARF-D Armenian National Committee of Europe Bedo Demirjian, who was also part of the “Advocacy and Media” Atelier and delivered a speech entitled “Effective Policy and Adoption of Decisions on Armenian Issues in Europe” during a July 13 session.
Bedo Demirjian attached importance to the forum and stated the following: “This is a commendable initiative that deserves attention since Armenian students of different universities have gathered in Armenia to discuss major issues of national concern, that is, to have the young professionals invest their professional knowledge in the Homeland in the future. During the forum, they had a chance to split into groups according to their professions and talk about major issues. This forum is also one of the best ways of contributing to the strengthening of Armenia-Diaspora relations.”
The communication correspondent of the ARF-D Armenian National Committee of Europe voiced hope that such initiatives would be ongoing and that they would engage not only students, but also members of different Diaspora Armenian youth organizations since there are all the prerequisites for organization.
“Armenian youth are interested in the protection of Armenian interests, and of course, the just solution of the Armenian Cause and the self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh are some of those interests. The youth share their views and concerns in an attempt to help the Homeland as much as they can. They simply need to participate in more similar forums and make progress so that each young Armenian gains experience in his or her respective field and be confident,” Bedo Demirjian stated.
At the end, Bedo Demirjian also touched upon the activities carried out by the ARF-D Armenian National Committee of Europe and particularly said the following: “We always have a lot of work to do. The issues of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenian Genocide are always on the agenda, and we are in a constant process. We also assist in the coordinated activities of the Armenian communities of Europe.
Currently, we are focused on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. About two weeks ago, we invited President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan to Belgium to discuss the four-day Artsakh war. After that meeting, we invited Human Rights Defender of Artsakh Ruben Melikyan.
They had meetings with members of Armenian political and non-governmental organizations and the members of the Armenian community, as well as with Belgian politicians in order to strengthen the ties between Belgium and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
Discussions were also held on the situation created as a result of the four-day war that Azerbaijan unleashed in April and the actions that need to be taken in the future.”
