Catholicos of All Armenians receives pilgrims from Worcester
On July 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received pilgrims from Worcester, Massachusetts accompanied by congregate of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, Supreme Archimandrite Sahag Yemishian, as reported the information system of the Mother See.
Introducing the pilgrims to the Supreme Patriarch, Fr. Sahag also touched upon the history of Worcester and emphasized that the Armenian community of Worcester had a long history.
Afterwards, the Catholicos of All Armenians transmitted his patriarchal speech and welcomed the Armenian pilgrims’ commitment to make a pilgrimage to the Homeland. The Supreme Patriarch said their relationship with the Homeland and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin was very important and urged them to consider themselves the owners and sons of the Homeland. His Holiness stated that such visits were of great significance for the Armenians of Armenia who rejoice as they see how their brothers and sisters of the Diaspora live for Armenia and the Armenians.
Touching upon the serious contributions that Diaspora Armenians have made to nation-building in Armenia, His Holiness appreciated the services that the pilgrims have made to the lives of Armenians.
The challenges facing the Armenian Church and the Armenian people and the efforts aimed at overcoming those challenges were touched upon during the meeting.
