Henrikh Mkhitaryan is first Armenian to play for Manchester United after 39 players of different nationalities

The English Manchester United has had 39 players of different nationalities before the transfer of midfielder of the Armenian national football team Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and the latter is the first Armenian player of Manchester United, as reported on the football club’s website.

Mkhitaryan, 27, was transferred from Dortmund Borussia and is the first Armenian football player to play in the English Premier League.

Most of the players of Manchester United have been from England (521 players) to this day, followed by players form Scotland (121) and Wales (44).

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has signed a 4-year deal with England’s 20-time champion. The first Armenian football player who played in England’s Premier League is senior player of the Iranian national football team Andranik Teymurian, who also played for Bolton, Fulham and Barnsley.
