The youth to be “praying” for peace in the Near East along with the Pope (Prayer for Kuwait)

On June 25, Kuwaiti-Armenians Nareg and Aleen Zakarian will participate in the Ecumenical Ceremony of Pope Francis at Republic Square on June 25. With soil brought from their birthplace, they will join the Pope as he says a prayer for the establishment of peace in the stormy region.
We present Hayern Aysor’s short coverage of the Kuwaiti-Armenian youth.
Narek and Aleen Zakarian attend the Armenian National School of Kuwait. As Nareg and Aleen told Hayern Aysor, they were pleasantly surprised when they were offered to participate in the meeting with the Pope during a tour with their family in Armenia and consider themselves lucky.
Their mother is also very excited that the children will be participating in the historic event.
The ancestors of Nareg and Aleen also experienced the horror of the Armenian Genocide. During the massacres, they escaped from Sasun and settled in Syria.
