Event commemorating the 20 Hunchakian gallows was held

On June 18, Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall hosted an event commemorating the 20 Hunchakian gallows. Among the participants were RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan; Vicar of the Prelacy of the Araratian Patriarchal Diocese, Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan; member of the Central Committee of the Social Democratic Hunchakian Party (SDHP) Setrak Ajemian; state and political figures; clergymen; Members of Parliament and representatives of political parties.
The attendees respected the memory of the 20 Hunchakian gallows with a moment of silence.
Archbishop Navasard Ktchoyan began his speech with a Holy Prayer and particularly stated the following: “Today we have gathered to commemorate the 20 Hunchakian gallows. They believed that 20,000 would follow the 20. Paramaz had managed to write the following on a handkerchief that he had transferred to the Armenian Patriarch: “Be alert, defend yourself. The Armenians will be massacred.” The 20 Hunchakian heroes sacrificed their lives for the independence of Armenia, and it is symbolic that they pronounced the words “Long Live Armenia” as they were hung.”
Member of the SDHP Central Committee Setrak Ajemian also gave a speech.
The Great Mourad Medal of the SDHP was granted to the fighters of the Hunchakian detachments that participated in the four-day war in Artsakh.
The event featured performances of Armenian national and revolutionary songs.
