Argentina to provide shelters to 3,000 Syrian refugees

Director of the Office of the President of Argentina Marcus Bina has announced that Argentina is ready to provide shelters to 3,000 Syrian refugees, as reported arabic.rt.com, according to Ankakh.com.

Argentina’s La Nacion newspaper particularly wrote the following: “Argentina confirms its intention to receive 3,000 refugees devastated by the crisis in the Near East. We are also ready to support the political settlement of the conflict.”

The director of the President’s office made this statement during a visit to the United States where he met with Barack Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice. Marcus Bina assured Rice that Argentina would implement this plan as soon as possible and would contribute to partial resolution of the refugee issue. Other countries of South America (Uruguay, Paraguay) have also provided shelters to tens of thousands of Syrian refugees.

During his visit to Greece, the Pope, who is of Argentine descent, called on the international community to immediately respond to the refugees’ issues and took twelve refugees with him to the Vatican.
