Painter Susanna Mkrtchyan presented her “Flowers” at “Hayartun” Center of Georgian-Armenian Diocese

On June 11, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of “Hayartun” Center of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia had turned into a wonderful “garden of colorful flowers” as Merited Cultural Figure of the Republic of Armenia, Professor, painter Susanna Mkrtchyan presented 35 samples of her relief paintings.

 The painter introduced Armenian art lovers of Tbilisi to her bas-relief works through the “Flowers” series. The paintings of poppies, Forget-me-nots, chrysanthemums, daisies and still life paintings portrayed the light of the painter’s soul, the warmth of her heart and her infinite desire to beautify the world, and all that was transmitted to the viewers, among which were intellectuals, painters and art figures, as well as those who love and appreciate art. They all viewed the well-known painter’s works with great interest.

As reported by “Hayartun” Center, in his opening remarks, President of the Union of Armenian Artists of Georgia Meruzhan Shahumyan introduced the talented painter, valued her work and her innate talent to create beauty. The Center’s press release also reads as follows: “Susanna Mkrtchyan paints in many genres. She can paint, create graphic works, paint on silk, make collages on paper and more.”

Touching upon the exhibited paintings, painter, potter Levon Osipov, painter Iren Ohanjanova and viewer Susanna Khachatryan expressed their thoughts about Mkrtchyan’s imaginary world and her talent of showing that which is visible with great mastery. Having exhibited her paintings in 36 countries around the world, painter Susanna Mkrtchyan had a great desire to present a small part of her work to her compatriots in Georgia. With great responsibility and a special love, the painter had come to the exhibition with her family and voiced hope to meet with the art lovers of Tbilisi again. Mkrtchyan expressed words of gratitude to the leader of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia and the “Hayartun” Center for Education, Culture and Youth for the reception and donated the album “Minas of Jajur” edited by Henrik Igityan to director of the Center Levon Chidilyan.

The exhibition ended with the blessing and words of appreciation of His Eminence, Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, who attached importance to the mindset that is so necessary for the development of a country, a city and the region. His Holiness also appreciated the gifted painter for her highly artistic works and great organizational ability that helped establish the Aesthetic Center of Gyumri, which has become a home for providing many generations of Armenians with an aesthetic education. Susanna Mkrtchyan’s samples are not only a unique synthesis of sculptures and paintings, but also wonderful paintings that were perfectly created during an intricate and time-consuming process.
