The fact that Germany confronted the Armenian Genocide as an ally and accomplice to the Ottoman Empire is of historical importance. This is what Armenian MP representing the Kurdish Democratic Party of Nations Garo Paylan declared, according to News.am.

As reported the Kurdish Dayanışma, after the Bundestag took its decision, Garo Paylan stated that the Armenian Genocide was perpetrated in front of the eyes of German officers and officials who had helped plan and conceal the crime. According to him, the decision is of historical importance since Germany, which shared the blame for the Armenian Genocide, is confronting the genocide.

However, the most important thing is to see Turkey, which is the real criminal, confront it and save itself from the genocidal tradition,” Garo Paylan said.

On June 2, the German Bundestag adopted a resolution on the Armenian Genocide stating that the Bundestag bows in front of the Armenians and other Christian minorities who were forcefully displaced and massacred in the Ottoman Empire 101 years ago. The resolution also states that the Bundestag regrets that the German government of the time didn’t take any action to prevent the crime against humanity, for which the Bundestag acknowledges Germany’s historical responsibility.
