Egyptian producer of “Who Killed the Armenians?” film: “The Armenian Genocide concerns all nations”
The Armenian Genocide is one of the major parts of history that concerns not only the Armenians, but also all nations. This is what Myriam Zaki, Egyptian producer of the film “Who Killed the Armenians?” devoted to the Armenian Genocide, told NEWS.am. Myriam Zaki received the award of President Serzh Sargsyan for her notable contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan today.
“it was very important for me to explain the Armenian Genocide to the Arabs. Today, it is safe to say that all Egyptians know about the Armenian Genocide and that the Armenians and the Egyptians have friendlier ties,” Zaki said.
The Egyptian producer is certain that the Armenian Genocide concerns all nations. “When you look at the role-players in 1915, they also existed in 2015 and exist in 2016. We see them. They use the same terms and have the same tactics. It is time to wake up. I think if the Armenians hadn’t kept silent for so many years, things would be different today.”
Let us remind that the film “Who Killed the Armenians?” is the first Arabic-language documentary devoted to the Armenian Genocide.
The film is produced by Muhammad Khanafi and Myriam Zaki. It presents photos of and archival materials about the first genocide of the 20th century. Shootings took place in Armenia, Egypt and Lebanon. The premiere was held on November 8, 2015.
