Secondary school of Getk village hosts event dedicated to the Armenian Genocide

On April 23, the secondary school of Getk village of Shirak Province hosted an event dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide with the title “Oh! My Home…” and with the purpose of placing emphasis on the ideas of feeling patriotic and stating claims, as reported the school to Hayern Aysor.

The school’s history teacher and creative teacher Gohar Gevorgyan organized the event in three parts.

Part 1: The participants of the event were introduced to the history of the Armenian Genocide in a gallery showcasing the horrible scenes of the genocide and located in a corner devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Part 2: The schoolchildren presented in detail historical facts about the organizers and perpetrators of the crime of the 20th century, performing songs and showing interesting videos and photos. They recalled the Armenian cities and villages from where 1.5 million Armenians had migrated and had been exiled.

The participants also held a group discussion on the topic of staying alive in any situation, presenting real facts and conducting a realistic analysis.

Part 3: This part was more unique and moving. The song “Piti Pashtpanem” (I Must Defend) by Nersik and Arabo Ispiryan was staged.

At the end, Principal H. Tadevosyan made the topic more current and talked about the Armenian soldiers killed during the four-day war in April with great sorrow and pride. Vice-Principal A. Gasparyan expressed gratitude to the organizer for the instructive and interesting event.
